When you select your template, you will open a new workbook that is fairly complete including data, Sparklines and even a company logo that links to the website.   What Else Do You See? Look again at the Title Bar on this workbook. Does it say Sales 2013 Template1?     This is your clue that you are working on a new workbook which you can save when you are ready.   OK, that was a good introduction to Templates.
